The Sangiovese Superiore DOC BIO from Tenuta Franzona is the result of meticulous winemaking.
From the organic grapes harvested manually in autumn, we proceed with pressing and destemming.
Fermentation takes place in stainless steel, followed by maceration for 15-20 days to extract colour and taini.
After fermentation, the wine matures in steel and glass-lined cement, with further refinement in second- and third-use medium-toasted barriques, which enriches the aromatic profile and gives elegance.
Tenuta Franzona’s Sangiovese Superiore DOC BIO comes from the hills of Imola, in the Tre Monti area, located 125 metres above sea level.
The region’s typical clay soil offers an ideal balance between drainage and water retention, vital for grape growth.
The vineyard’s north-south orientation maximizes sun exposure, favoring uniform ripening of the bunches.
These factors contribute to giving the wine a remarkable depth and complexity.
